Frequently Asked Questions for Dundee Library
Can I suspend a hold I have placed? Yes. You will not lose your place in the queue and the materials will not arrive for you while you’re gone. Follow these steps:
Log In to your account.
Select "Holds" tab: this page will show all of your active holds.
Select (checkbox) the title(s) you would like to suspend. Then, click the "Suspend" button. A drop down calendar will appear. Select the suspension start date and end date.
When complete, you will see a message that says "Hold successfully suspended" and little calendar icon next to the item.
Can I reserve an Internet or word processing computer? Yes, contact the Dundee Library's Adult Information Desk (847) 428-3661 (press 3) for more specific information. If you want to reserve a computer at the Randall Oaks Library please call (847) 428-3661 (press 4).
Can I save to the hard drive of a library computer? We recommend you save to a USB flash drive which we sell at the front desk. You may temporarily save to the hard drive during your session but all files are deleted after session is ended and computer automatically reboots.
Can I return materials from other libraries here? Yes.
Do you accept a library card from another public library? Yes.
Do you deliver materials to the homebound?

Do you have a public fax machine? Yes, only at the Dundee Library's Account Services Desk. It is $2 for the first page and $1 for each additional page. If there is a cover letter, it counts as a page.
Do you have any job openings ? Please call the Business Office at (847) 428-3661 (press 5) or check our job openings page.
Do the Friends of the Library accept material donations? Yes. Book donations are accepted at the Dundee Library only. The Friends welcome your clean and gently used adult and children's books, music CDs, DVDs, books on cassette or CD, and large print materials. To donate your items, simply drop them off at the account services desk. You will receive a form for tax deductions if you wish. Please do not use the book return slots for your donations.
Does the library have computers with Internet access and word processing? Does the library charge for printing from their computers?

Black & White: 20 cents per page

How will I be notified that my materials have come in?
Let us know if you would like to be notified via automated phone call, or you can register to be notified via email. The email address you submit will only be used for library business such as hold notification, overdue notices, etc. All information in your record is kept confidential. You can also call (847) 590-8706 to check overdues, renew items, find due dates or check what you have available for pick-up. Have your library card handy!
