Fox River Valley Public Library District (FRVPLD) serves 70,000 residents in northeastern Kane County, Illinois. Our growing, culturally diverse district along the Rt. 90 corridor straddles the Fox River and includes the communities of East and West Dundee, Carpentersville, Sleepy Hollow, and Gilberts along with parts of Algonquin, Barrington Hills, and Elgin.

(3) Part Time Shelvers

Hours:  12 hours per week

Salary:  $8.50 per hour

The Fox River Valley Public Library District has three openings for part-time Shelvers for our Dundee Library location.  Primary duties include shelving books and other materials, maintaining correct order and tidiness in the collections, emptying sorter bins, collecting materials from the on-site book drop, and shifting materials as required.

The anticipated work schedules are:

Shelver 1:

Tuesday and Thursday 5-9pm; Saturday - 1:30pm-5:30pm


Shelver 2:

Monday and Wednesday 5-9pm; Saturday 10am-2pm
 

 
Shelver 3:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1-5pm

Full Time PATS (Purchasing, Acquisitions, Technical Services) Manager

Hours:  40 hours per week

Salary:   $44,243- $49,765 DOQ

The Fox River Valley Public Library District is looking for a Purchasing, Acquisitions & Technical Services Manager (PATS) Manager.  This is a full-time, benefitted position working at our Dundee Library location, with responsibility for purchases at both the Dundee and Randall Oaks libraries. 

The successful candidate will have experience in:
  • Acquisitions, cataloging, classifying and processing of materials
  • Cataloging consistent with consortial and national standards
  • Implementation and oversight of EDI, Outsource Processing, and import of Vendor Records
  • Evaluating suppliers to minimize cost while maximizing service levels
  • Ordering / receiving all materials and supplies including office and operating supplies
  • Reporting on collection statistics
  • Hiring, training and evaluation of Technical Services staff (2 FTEs)
  • Performing original cataloging using RDA

The Fox River Valley Public Library District is a member of the Cooperative Cataloging System (CCS).  MLS from an ALA-accredited school is required, as well as a minimum three years professional public library service including supervisory and collection development experience.  Working knowledge of MS Office and experience with integrated library system software is necessary.
