Catalog Search FAQs


What is My Account?
This feature of iBistro allows you to view a list of the items you currently have checked out or on reserve. You will also be able to cancel holds, change your password, and renew your materials if they renewable and there are currently no requests for the item.

Change Your Password
  • Click on the phrase My Account located in the dark blue toolbar.
  • Click on the phrase User Password Change
  • Type in your library card barcode number and your current password.
  • Type in your new password. You will need to verify your new password by retyping the new password.
  • Click on Change Password. You should see a message telling you that your password has been changed. 
  • Click on OK. Remember to click on Logout.

Placing a Hold
  • If you want to place a number of holds on items then you can login with your barcode number and password. This is seen at the bottom of the Library Catalog page.
  • Search the Library Catalog by author, title, subject or keywords, and then:
  • If your search results in more than one item, display the complete record of your selection by clicking on the Details button to the left of the item.
  • iBistro will indicate if the item is on the shelf or has been checked out.
  • If the item has been checked out, proceed with placing a hold by doing the following:
  • Click on the Hold button located to the left of the author/title information box on the screen.
  • Type in your entire library card barcode number without spaces in the Library Card Number box.
  • Type the password in the Password box. The default password for all patrons' accounts is the word "patron".
  • Click on the Place Hold button. iBistro will verify your name and library card information. You will then be asked to confirm your hold request.
  • Click on OK when the confirmation screen appears. You will be notified by phone or email when your requested item is available.

If you want to get notified by email you can register for email notices about your library account. The email address you submit will only be used for library business such as hold notification, overdue notices, etc. All information in your record is kept confidential.


Hold Notification by E-Mail / Add or Update E-Mail Addresses
  • Click on the phrase My Account located in the dark blue toolbar.
  • Click on the phrase Add/Update my Email Address
  • Type in your library card number.
  • Type in your password. The default password for all patrons' accounts is the word "patron".
  • Type in your Email Address. The email address you submit will only be used for library business such as hold notification, overdue notices, etc. All information in your record is kept confidential.
  • Retype your Email Address.
  • Accept the statement by clicking the submit button.
  • Close the window.

Renew My Materials
  • Click on the phrase My Account located in the dark blue toolbar.
  • Click on the phrase Renew My Materials.
  • Type in your library card barcode number and password. The default password for all patrons' accounts is the word "patron".
  • Click on List Charged Items to review a list of all materials currently checked out. 
  • Select Renew Selected Items or Renew All.
  • If you choose Renew Selected Items you will need to click in the box next to each item.
  • Click on Renew Selected Items once you are finished selecting items to be renewed. 
  • You will then see information on the items renewed.

Searching the Catalog
Key Word Search in Library Catalog
If you know only part of the author and part of the title:

  • Type in part of the author’s name and part of the title, linking the two with the word “and”. Example: Clark and little girls
  • Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to view the records.
  • Click on the Details button next to your selection to find the call number, location and shelf status
  • Click on words highlighted in blue for more information or to find related items.
  • To perform a new search, click on the New Search button.

Author Search
  • To find a particular author’s books: Type in the author’s name in the space provided. Example: Mary Higgins Clark or Clark Mary Higgins.
  • Click on the Author button.
  • Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to view the first 20 items.
  • If you have not found your selection, click on the Next button at the top of the page to see additional items.
  • Click on the Details button next to your selection to find the call number, location and shelf status.
  • Click on words highlighted in blue for more information or to find related items.
  • To perform a new search, click on the New Search button.

Title Search - to find a particular title:
  • Type in the complete title or part of the title in the space provided.  Example: Two little girls in blue OR little girls Click on the Title button.
  • Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to view the first 20 items.
  • If you have not found your selection, click on the Next button at the top of the page to see additional items.
  • Click on the Details button next to your selection to find the call number, location and shelf status.
  • Click on words highlighted in blue for more information or to find related items.

Subject Search
  • To get a list of items in a particular subject:
  • Type in a word or phrase that describes what you are looking for in the space provided. Example: woodworking
  • Click on the Subject button.
  • Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen to view items.
  • Click on the Details button next to your selection to find the call number, location and shelf status.
  • If you have not found your selection, click on the Next button at the top of the page to see additional items.
  • Click on words highlighted in blue for more information or to find related items.
